A dance and music program presented by Dance Currents Inc. and Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, as part of Pro Arte's Salon Series on Thursday, March 13, 2014. The dance program will be repeated at Newton City Hall on Sunday, March 16, 2014 sponsored in part by Newton Cultural Council. The program includes three pieces, Ressourcement to Bach's Cello Suite in D minor, Emergence to Archangelo Corelli's Concerto #8 in G minor and Dawn, to Louise Farrenc's Trio for flute, violin, and cello in E minor and Nadia Boulanger's Pieces for Cello and Piano.

The inspiration for the choreography by Kathy Hassinger, artistic director of Dance Currents Inc., is from moments of transcendent memory: a sacred space, (Ressourcement) a birth (Emergence), and the moment of creation (Dawn). The program will be performed by the accomplished dancers, Jennifer Burpee, Sarah Josselyn, Li-Ann Lim, Lauren Previte, Kai Sherman and Alison Smith as well as Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston's renowned musicians. Dance Currents has performed this program twice before, once with LaVazza Chamber Orchestra May 13, 2012, and also on December 9th, 2012 with Peter Zay as cellist.

Dance Currents Inc. is proud to be associated with such stellar organizations and thrilled to dance to the music of such fine musicians as well as to open up a new venue for dance in Newton. "Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston is an innovative, musician-run orchestra that brings a creative mix of classical and new music to the concert stage while truly reaching out to the community. Pro Arte is New England's only professional cooperative chamber orchestra. Its players are among the area's finest free-lance musicians, and they perform regularly with the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, the Boston Symphony, the Boston Ballet, Handel and Haydn Society, and the Boston Lyric Opera". (Quoted from the website). "The goal of the Newton Council is to contribute to the cultural vitality of Newton by funding creative, cultural and humanistic projects involving Newton cultural organizations and Newton artists and humanists."
