The Merrimack Repertory Theatre will end the world premiere of Richard Dresser's THE LAST DAYS OF MICKEY & JEAN on April 11, 2010.

THE LAST DAYS OF MICKEY AND JEAN is a new original comedy is a retirement story with a twist. Constantly on the run with his no-longer young girlfriend, an aging fugitive mobster is forced into early retirement, taking him away from the one thing he truly loves - his work.

Charles Towers will direct the production with scenic design by Bill Clarke, costume design by Deborah Newhall, and lighting design by Dan Kotlowitz.

Jack Wetherall will play the role of Mickey. Wetherall has appeared on Broadway as the title role in THE ELEPHANT MAN as well as Off-Broadway in shows like THE GLASS CAGE (Malcolm), TAMARA (Mario), and BAD WOMEN (Phaedra). Wetherall has directed a number of productions as well as appearing on television in "Queer as Folk," "Guiding Light," and "One Life to Live," among others.

Jean will be played by Rae C. Wright who is making her Merrimack Repertory Theatre debut. She has appeared Off-Broadway in THE BREAKS, THE GRAPES OF WRATH, and THE LILY'S REVENGE. She is also the author of THE MOON IN VAIN (A ‘fifth act' to THE SEAGULL), SHE'S JUST AWAY!, ANIMAL INSTICTS: TALES OF FLESH AND TALES OF BLOOD, and VICKI WEAVER & I.

Christopher McHale will play Bobby, Dr. Shock, and Tinsel. McHale has appeared on Broadway in JULIUS CAESAR with Denzel Washington, KING LEAR, EXECUTIONS OF JUSTICE, PIAF, and THE ICEMAN COMETH. He has also appeared in films such as "The Seduction of Joe Tynan" and on television in "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Criminal Intent," "Rescue Me," and "Six Degrees/"
