Now that we are entering what I will term a mostly "Post Pandemic" world, how (if at all) have your lives changed?

My husband and I always enjoyed travel, in part because our military careers required frequent travel to places far and wide.  The Pandemic put a temporary stop to travel, but we are now returning to plans for a number of upcoming trips, both within and outside the U.S.  Otherwise, our lives did not change overly much because of the Pandemic (except that we often continue to wear face masks in public).  We have lived mostly quiet and simple lives both before and after.

And you?

I suspect this thread is a just to act as another "climate change" trigger for me, which is flattering, but I'll play along.

Covid, for me, taught me to appreciate the simpler things in life. A star-filled sky, a purring kitten, a walk on the beach, a hearty broth, a giggling baby etc. Clichés, sure, but clichés for a reason. Autumn leaves, the strum of a guitar, a cosy fireplace. I could go on forever. Do I really need to see the pyramids of Giza, or the leaning tower of Pisa? Do I really need to win a Pulitzer or a Tony Award for my life to have meaning? Do I really need to keep up with the latest fashion trends or update my iPhone to the latest model?

Of course loved ones remain important, and ever more so. Tell them you love them now. Start loving yourself. Forget about being "happy", just focus on being "content". The harsh realities of life will sometimes get in the way, but stop focusing on some imaginary future. NOW is what counts.

Slow down. Relax. Forget about trying to impress people. My post-pandemic life has been about trying to remember all of this, and sometimes I need reminders. Sorry, Highland Guy, but obscene and grotesque displays of wealth and privilege such as a royal coronation serve this purpose well. At least they are of some use. I have not flown in over four years, climate change looms large. I hope to live perhaps another 60 or 70 years, how can it not be at the forefront of my mind?

Life is tough.

As I thought likely, here you are bullying and trolling me.  Stop it.  Now.  This thread was created with anything BUT you and climate change in mind.

If I am mistaken, I apologize.

My answer was sincere. If I was incorrect on your motive, I'm sorry, but you only have yourself to blame. Please answer honestly... why did you start the "up, up, and away" thread? Where you espoused the pleasures of flying, regaling us with stories of travel, and telling us of your upcoming long flights.

I refuse to be labelled a "bully" by somebody who has referred to me as a "despicable piece of nothing", and only days ago called me a "****ing moron". I have pleaded with you to be conscious of mental health, but it has fallen on deaf ears. If I am somewhat paranoid now, it is a result of your actions.

P.S. You will be glad to know that you have finally succeeded in driving me away from this site. Today will be my last day visiting for 2023. I may return in the new year. Happy holidays, everyone.

Jay may or may not have been right about your intentions (having observed the goings-on here, I had exactly the same thought when I read your post), but there's no way his skeptical but tranquil response qualifies as "bullying."
