53 out so far.

I notice you've stopped your running tally of LM absences?  Could that be because she's been appearing pretty regularly?

Ok now you know…

———

In her Instagram post revealing the pregnancy, Mendez wrote that she is “so grateful for the unrelenting support of my @merrilyonbway producers and company.”

She added: “Together, they have made it so that I can happily work safely, all while growing this true Broadway baby.”

Anyone have a current total for missed Mendez performances?

Sorry if this has been asked a million times.

I am seeing a Sunday performance of Oh, Mary! at 5:30PM and am tempted to try to squeeze in a matinee of Merrily prior.

I know the show runs 2 hours and 30 minutes (15 min intermission included). Does anyone know if the show typically runs on time? I know it won't end at 4:30 on the dot but I'm hoping if I can be out by 4:50 I can make it downtown in time. If not, I'll just try something like Mary Jane.

Thanks in advance!

Merrily usually starts 1 ~ 3 min past the clock. They don't wait for too long. When the music starts, the light still on (ppl are still talking, using phones, etc, but that's for a diff topic). You should be fine (assuming the lousy MTA won't be a problem that day)

Thank you! Yeah - the MTA is the hiccup I'm most afraid of LOL.

Missed performances total: Honestly- none of your business and why does it matter to anyone except those involved in the production?”

By your own logic, someone being curious about this (on a theatre message board of all places) is none of your business. Why does it matter to you?

*Insert eye roll here*

I think if you go back to people who went on for Lindsay on their social media or something, they might have posted each time they went on, and you could figure it out from there.

Edited: Apologies, I was incorrect. The understudies posted but Lindsay never said anything until the announcement. 65 missed shows including Tuesday this week.

I was incredibly late to this party. Caught the matinee this afternoon and all 3 brilliant leads were in. And utterly flawless they were. Packed house loved every minute of it. A truly sterling start to my 12-day theater trip.

I was also at the matinee today. I didn’t expect to like it because I’m not a Sondheim guy and my only other experience with this show was that terrible L.A. production a few years ago, but I thought it was really good. All three leads were impressive.

I do hope you can forgive me for asking a question about a theatre star on a theatre message board. Whatever was I thinking?

You’re so right — it’s none of my business. That I’m considering investing hundreds of dollars on a ticket doesn’t give me the right to inquire about the attendance record of one of the stars. Sure, I worked hard for that cash. I have no right to ask what to expect in return. I should just be grateful.

it doesn’t matter that my question was asked without judgement. Just, how dare I? It doesn’t matter that I’m trying to deduce my odds of actually catching her performance. Just, how dare I? It doesn’t matter that there was no judgment to my question. It was just flat out wrong that I asked. I don’t know what I was thinking asking a group of theatre aficionados for a bit of factual info about theatre star. Honestly, it’s none of my business.

All that sarcasm aside, I do hope you’ll seek help.

Stop being dramatic. I was asking because I want to see her performance and wanted to deduce the odds (not that I could).

Just give me claws and a hunch! Just away from this bunch!

Deleted my comment because yes, I could have been less sarcastic but the "seek help" comment? 1000% not necessary. Do me a favor and learn some respect

At least I can admit when I'm in the wrong- y'all like acting like you're perfect angels who never do anything wrong, mean, or bad. Own up to what you do too

The. Irony. You respond with “It’s none of your business!”  Then suggest I go through the socials of swings and understudies. Yet, I’M the one who needs to learn respect?! I double-down: seek help.

Also, some reports suggest she missed Tuesday’s performance. Does that mean she’s up to 66 missed performances?! Wow. My odds of actually catching her just feel so very low.

I'm sorry if this has been said before, but at this point, based on Cabaret reviews- do we think the Tony is J. Groff's to lose?

Personally, those only chance I see of him losing is if BDJ sneaks in.  And while I loved both performances, my vote would go to BDJ - but I won't be upset either way.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The Tonys are quite unkind to actors in musicals that are no longer running. I do think this is Groff’s time.
