I'll be doing backflips in Times Square when I see him in handcuffs and an orange jumpsuit.

Will he be forced to go through the petty humiliations I encountered when I was arrested for a misdemeanor many years ago? Given that he's accused of dozens of felonies, then if not, why not?

I'm sure you know the answer to that, kdogg.

One rule for the "have"s, another for the "have nots".

Same as everything else.

^^^Exactly.  Trump will get off with the slightest of slaps on the wrist.  At worst a fine, which he'll never pay anyway.

They will offer him a plea deal for his 91 charges. So, he avoids jail, gets probation BUT he can never run for public office ever again. That is the deal they will probably give him. No one wants him anywhere near the White house ever again, which is why all these charges are coming years later, and smack in the middle of an election season. But, his ego won't allow that and the first thing he will do "when" he's elected is pardon himself in his federal cases. Which, of course, will never happen.

Sociopaths are wild.

Except he announced exceptionally early in order to be in perpetual "election season." The case was being built long before he announced and he announced as a "get out of trial free" card.

Why is he opting out of the GOP debates? Too afraid his mates will expose him? Chris Christie will tear him apart.

He doesn't need to be there. He had his own interview with Tucker Bulls*it Carlson and he's up by 40 points. He let them eat themselves.

Democrats are playing Republican voters like a freaking fiddle. The more cases against Trump and mugshots the better. They get all the MAGA people riled up and Trump is up big for 2024 nomination which is good for the Democrats. While the MAGA people love Trump, the independent voter still dislikes the Trump personality, and he would lose again in 2024 general election if he got the nomination. DeSantis, Haley and other candidates would have much better appeal to the independent voter which is crucial in swing states. Well played, liberals.

Liberals did not make Donald Trump break the law.

He is a career criminal who is finally starting to feel some slight ramifications of his abhorrent actions. That's all there is to it.

Well played, liberals

Thank you, Zeppie. I actually understood your post so I can appreciate it. This is what we wanted all along because even his dumb, vapid base of idiots knows he can't win with just their votes. He will run and lose again.

What a beautiful thing.

I also understood Zeppie's post. I, however, did not appreciate it. Is that allowed?

It plays into the narrative that these prosecutions are just an election tactic. Which they are not. Trump and his abhorrent cronies tried to overturn democracy and are now starting to be held accountable for their actions. By law, the law they broke. That's it.

Trump really only has his MAGA base to count on for votes. Some Republicans aren't voting for him again because of what is currently happening. He lost the independent voter in 2020 and ain't getting many back for 2024. His only edge currently is inflation despite a successful economy that he said would have wound up in a recession if Biden ended up as President.

That Trump does not have sufficient support to win the presidency is likely the case, generally.  The problem is Biden is in a similar boat, but Biden can't or wont' dump Harris.  And it doesn't seem he will step aside and allow someone else to emerge that could have a far easier time winning.  No one Trump picks will be as bad as Harris.  If he chooses well, that could turn both many independents and many of those on the right who don't like Trump.  If it comes to it and we revisit Trump vs Biden, which no one will be surprised by, you never know what could happen.  A Trump/? ticket vs Biden/Harris could easily result in real disappointment around here.  Be careful what you wish for.

Marjorie Taylor Greene would be worse than Kamala Harris. In fact, anybody willing to run with Donald Trump is automatically worse purely on that basis alone. What exactly is wrong with Kamala anyway? Nothing, except she is not popular. Which is totally unfair and unwarranted. Normally the VP pick is totally irrelevant anyhow, because it is usually a totally unimportant job. The difference this time being that the two frontrunner candidates are elderly men with limited time left on this earth.

I honestly thought Nikki Haley was gunning to be Trump's VP. But she threw him under the bus too many times during the debates. Vivek Ramaswamy did plenty of ass-kissing on Trump to see he's going for that VP slot. But he's a 9/11 truther conspiracy theorist and that may not fly with the MAGA base.

"What exactly is wrong with Kamala anyway?"

Maybe you should ask Democratic voters. When she ran for POTUS she did not even make it to the 1rst primary before she dropped out of the race. Little known at the time "Mayor Pete" did better than the US Senator from the largest state in the country.

Harris's popularity gap (+11.5 points disapprove) is marginally less than Biden's (12.1) and certainly less than Trump's (16.5). I seriously doubt there are any potential VPs, on either side, who are doing significantly better than this, but I'd welcome additional data on that.

I just wish people voted on competency and not popularity. This is not Big Brother. The reasoning seems to be that the VP is not popular because of racism and misogyny so let's discard her. We need somebody warmer. More appealing to Middle America. More Laura Bush-y. A good wife, not somebody with a mind of her own. These women are getting above their station. At least get a blonde if nothing else. Sad.
