Ok yea I don't like most of this renovation. The chandelier, carpet and lobby areas are too modern and look like they belong in a Vegas casino. They don't fit into the theater's existing architecture at all. I also don't like the color scheme but I realize that may just be my personal taste."

I do wish they would have gone into a more antique approach, but that's not how these things work. It's all the same vibe as everything else.

Second to that; I think the Palace looks amazing, minus the carpet. I love the blue, and the chandelier.
If Lincoln were alive today, do you think he'd be pleased with his tunnel?

The interior of the auditorium looks fine but, at least from the images of the tiny common spaces they've released so far, it doesn't look like the renovation will make any kind of gala events possible. Forget about the Tonys ever being hosted at the new Palace. It was never a really good candidate for special events before its renovation but these images make it feel vault-like. The original foyer, as I remember it, was quite open to the auditorium and let in some natural light.
