Hi,

I'm coming over the city for a couple of days in a bit more than a week.

I think I can catch 2 shows and I'm hesitating between a few and was hoping you guys could help me out. I also wrote why I am interested in each.

Waitress: I love that second song they did at the Tony's a few years ago. I thought the first song they did at the Tony's was just ok. But haven't heard the other songs. If Jessie Mueller was still in the show I would be even more interested.

Anastasia: mainly because I really like Ramin as a performer. I also really like Once upon a December.

School of rock: seems like such a fun show. That performance at the Tony's was quite amazing.

Kinky books: interested to see how Brendon Urie is on Broadway. Was pretty sad to have missed out on seeing Billie Joe Armstrong on Broadway a few years ago, so somehow thinking I should see this...I love a great rock and roll voice.

Sunset boulevard: I think quite nice to get to see a revival done by the same actress who did the original. I also read some good reviews about it. But other than reading a quick summary I don't know much about the show and haven't heard any songs.

My favorite shows include Once, Hedwig, Dear Evan Hansen.

I will also try out for the online lottery for Hamilton for each night I'm there. So I will be buying tickets only a couple of hours before show time.

Not a question. Waitress with Sara Bareilles is unmissable. I'd also see Sunset Blvd.

If Ramin is the only reason you want to see Anastasia, I think you will be disappointed.  His part isn't that big and is pretty lacking.  I enjoyed the show since I loved the movie, but it could have easily been 90 minutes and still worked.

I second Waitress and Sunset BlvdSchool of Rock is a good backup, it's a fun show.  I haven't seen Kinky Boots, so can't comment there.  It wasn't on your list, but I gotta suggest Groundhog Day if the others fall through.

Regarding the Hamilton lottery: The online lottery is in the morning and you'll know by 11am or 1pm if you've won depending on if there are 2 shows or 1.  Just wanted to be sure you knew and didn't miss the window to enter, I may have misread your post.  It's also worth checking the cancellation line, you can get lucky and have a short wait sometimes.

I would highly recommend Waitress with Sara Bareilles. She is giving a truly incredible performance. I would also recommend Sunset Boulevard.

Without a doubt Sunset boulevard, however those are some very good shows so the second option is up to you. I adore every single one you mentioned.

WAiTRESS for Sarah Bareilles...a must see!

SuNSET for Glenn Close along with hearing that score played on stage by a 40 piece orchestra is stunning or KiNKY for this Brendon dude only if you like him!

Skip ANaSTASIA as Ramin is wasted in the show not starring a very small part in a show that only is mildly entertaining but flat. Go see the far more entertaining Aladdin instead if you haven't seen it!

No need to see ScHOOL of RoCK when you can see the other better shows!

Thanks everyone for the suggestions! It seems like Sunset Boulevard is a popular choice, so I'll go with that one as my first show :)

Thanks for the tip about the lottery! I didn't know the lottery was that early (I think in the past it ended only at like 4pm), that sure would help to plan more accordingly, though I mean what are the chances of winning the lottery really, but I thought why not try!

I love School of Rock and recommend it to everyone but I also just saw Kinky Boots last week (missed Urie though, unfortunately) and think it's in terrific shape.

I'll cast yet another vote for Sunset Boulevard, and as a fellow fan of Mr. Karimloo, I'd also recommend that you skip Anastasia
