Did anyone catch Annie Baker's The Flick in the US? I'm looking forward to the National's version, but I've heard it's a divisive one!

Yes I caught this at Barrow St, I enjoyed the play very much. It's moves very slowly, which I imagine will bore some people. But it portrays the sometimes boring daily grind of the workplace. It is funny and sad at same time. As an industry I know well. The depiction of the demise of the projectionist (as occurred  across the world), I found very moving.

I saw it at Signature Theatre in Virginia, which usually has outstanding productions, many of Broadway caliber.  The Flick was terrible.  It was long and boring, and the character development was poorly drawn and inconsistent.  I don't understand how this possibly won a Pulitzer.

I absolutely loved the show at the Barrow St...I didn't realize that they brought some of the original cast over. Lucky you guys, they are terrific!
