What prompted me to put the question before the group was a colleague’s suggestion that this election cycle is about dealing with ISIS/ISIL and the spread of global terrorism.  He is not a fan of Obama/Biden’s foreign policy and is praying that Clinton and Bush sew up their respective party nominations.   In his mind, those two have a good handle on terrorist activities in the Middle East, North Korea, Nigeria, Somalia, and Colombia as well as East Europe's concerns about the influx of immigrants from Syria.  He's even less a fan of Angela Merkel and blames her for what he considers to be Europe's inevitable disintegration.

No.  The US needs to reinstate the draft, and we need a peacetime president.

If you spend more time worrying about ISIS than about drunk drivers or heart disease, then you've been duped. (I'm paraphrasing someone, but I regret that I've forgotten the original source.)

Anyhow, my answer is an emphatic no.

Testifying on Capitol Hill Tuesday, Defense Intelligence Agency Director Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart warned, "ISIS will probably attempt to conduct additional attacks in Europe, and attempt to direct attacks on the U.S. homeland in 2016."
