What are you cooking?  What are you most looking forward to trying?  Got a great recipe to share?  Need suggestions on what to prepare and serve?  Post away!

In honor of Carol Channing's 94th Thanksgiving, I've been tasked with preparing a corn side dish.  I'm thinking a cheesy corn casserole.  Tons of recipes out there - none particularly complicated - but if you have a corn casserole recipe you're particularly fond of, do let me know.

I'm also likely going to make an Irish Car Bomb Cake - basically a chocolate guinness cake with a whiskey and Irish cream frosting.  Again, lots of recipes out there for this one, so if you have one you like, do speak up!

Sounds delicious, HT!
The two things I'm excited about making are this Hasselback potato gratin, a cross between hasselback potatoes and scalloped potatoes  http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2013/12/hasselback-potato-gratin-casserole-holiday-food-lab.html

and a variation of an Opera Cake.  The usual has various layers of chocolate and coffee cakes and fillings. Mine will have layers of matcha tea cake, white chocolate ganache, mango buttercream and almond paste.

Artsy - love the cake idea.  That sounds DELICIOUS.  Not sure what you're using for the mango, but if you have an Indian (or general "Asian"2015 Thanksgiving Recipe Thread grocery store nearby, you might want to pick up a can of alphonso mango pulp. Alphonso mangoes from India are not in season right now, but juices, pulps and frozen fruit should be easy to find. Alphonso has a depth of flavor not found in the Mexican, Latin American and North American mangoes we get in regular US grocery stores.

Your matcha tea cake is making me think of the wonderful milk chocolate/earl grey macarons sold at Bottega Louie.  Been meaning to try making a chocolate/earl grey dessert for years, but not sure how to make the earl grey flavor cut through the stronger flavor of chocolate.  Can save that one for Xmas, perhaps.

HT, I did find juice, but I was looking for puree and couldn't find any anywhere. So I pureed some fresh ones with a little sugar and lemon juice, then froze it in ice cube trays to use when I make the buttercream. I'll be in the city tomorrow and will do a little search for the Alphonso pulp. Thanks!

I bet the fruity/floral notes of the Earl Grey will come through, adding a nice depth to the chocolate.
