Just discovered this clip. What a wonderful moment. What a wonderful show. What a wonderful lady. We had Betty White host SNL...how about Carol?
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

I'm not sure she's "under" appreciated. UCLA's School of Theater, Film and Television features a famous alum at each year's orientation session. The year Miss Burnett was the guest alumna, students and faculty (new and returning alike) simply lost their ****. Much more so than with younger stars in other years, such as Corbin Bernsen and Joanna Gleason. (The latter was great, BTW.) And Burnett was well worth the pandemonium, simply ad libbing during a Q&A.
