The Menier has a cancellation line.  Look for an extension.  That is how we got tix to candide in 2014

Whew -- I bought right away on instinct, never guessing it would be such a big seller. Go Sher! Very excited to see this show for the first time live. Does anyone know when the last major UK production was?

Oooh Noooo!!  Was hoping to catch this in December.  I guess I will be standing in the cancellation line and hoping for the best.  I should have paid more attention to the onsale date.  This will my first trip to London.

Queen Alice - the last major UK production was at Chichester in 2008 with Samantha Spiro as Fanny and Mark Umbers as Nick.

Michael Mayer won a Tony in 2007 for directing Spring Awakening.

What is the likelihood of Sheridan Smith or Imelda Staunton ever to play NYC? It seems you're getting Glenn Close again? Seeing a wonderful new production of Funny Girl in NY seems like a pipe dream; with Gypsy, maybe a better chance?

I recall reading that Imelda simply has no interest in performing in NYC, which is incredibly unfortunate for us. I don't know where Sheridan stands in that regard.

I am fully aware of Michael winning a tony for sa . I also believe he got one for TMM

So why did you write up thread that he never won a Tony?  

(And Mayer didn't win for Thoroughly Modern Millie. John Rando won that year for Urinetown).

How does the cancellation line work at Menier?  What time do you recommend getting in line for a possible seat at this production?

 

Also, does Menier ever offer standing room?

I am holding out the same hope for the same reason! I dont think another 12 weeks would be unreasonable.

A poster on theatreforum.com suggests an extension may not be possible as Sheridan Smith may have other contractual obligations - so if it does extend, it may not be Smith.  But, that's just a poster - not a "fact".
