I just can't get my head around the closure of this musical some months ago. I mean fair enough I accept that it wasn't appealing to a wide audience and it was put in one of the bigger theatres HOWEVER
WHY isn't a cast recording being released? those compositions were some of the catchiest numbers i've ever heard!!!!!
Please tell me i'm not the only one who feels this way?
Firstly, welcome to the board. I am afraid you will be jumped on here, for saying soundtrack. It should be 'cast recording'. Regarding 'I Can't Sing', along with anything else connected with Cowell. It needs to be buried deeply as toxic waste. Never to see the light of day again.
Yes. You're not alone with your thoughts; lots of people miss the show. The songs were absolutely brilliant - and even though they were more functional as 1920s musical comedy songs (commenting on a point, rather than advancing one) they were incredibly tuneful).
Some songs were released on Soundcloud as promo pieces - so they're there for your enjoyment.
I would like to see the show return as a TV musical - I think that's the best place for it.

I'm sad it didn't get a recording. The show was a hot mess but not because of a lack of talent on stage and calling the shots. Some shows just don't work.
