Starts tonight with another episode airing tomorrow night. Anyone else going to be watching? I'm not expecting it to be anywhere as good as breaking bad but it still has the potential to be an excellent show.
I thought it was a delightful Valentine's Day present for Breaking Bad fans. My expectations were low, but that Vince Gilligan... he rewards his audience. The lawyer is in, way inUpdated On: 2/9/15 at 11:27 PM
Good pilot. Bold to make it black and white at the beginning (a flash forward and making good on Breaking Bad's promise on what lies ahead for Saul/Jimmy). Gilligan continues to have an excellent grip on form and framing. That first car wreck was so unexpected and a good mind game for Odenkirk and the other actors to play off. Odenkirk's scene with Michael McKean was also very strong. Both are in the **** but pilot continues the misanthropic, cynical, black humor of Breaking Bad. Also like how playful the show is on the whole process in pulling off a con and how that can also fall by the seams.
Banks' first appearance did feel a little too fan-servicing.
I like Odenkirk a lot but I was surprised how much lifting the show gave him in just the first episode. I was impressed.
Also like how the show visually announces it is doing a Network reference and just has Jimmy/Saul do a riff on that to uninterested folks.
A good pilot -- I was engaged and entertained throughout, and I liked the little kicker at the end. I'll definitely be back for more tonight.
I too liked the B/W opening, with the sad little color reflections from the TV visible in his glasses.

And Episode Two picked up just a few minutes before the end of Episode One, and kicked into high gear almost immediately, doing in its first 30 minutes more than most of the current Oscar nominees for Best Picture had done in their entire interminable running times.

This is a very good show. I like that they're moving slowly with things.
I laughed really hard at the nursing home scene, where the seniors were eating jell-o. Whose idea was it to play the theme from The Third Man for that? Hilarious. Few people probably knew where that music came from. Loved it!
The episode centering on Mike was really impressive, one of the best hours of TV recently, adding some new dimensions to Jonathan Banks' character. His relationship with Jesse in BREAKING BAD is never going to feel quite the same.

In the penultimate final episode of the season we see the straw that broke the camel's back converting Jimmy "I think I can, I think I can" McGill into S'all good, man.
