With the original cast recording having only been released a year ago this February, and the show opening at Circle in the Square in April, how do you think they approach the recording? With many of the original cast recording members transferring to the Circle production, would they record a whole new cast album to be sold as the OBC or would they just continue selling the Original Cast Recording?
^ Untrue. There are three different cast members for the Broadway cast. Emily Skeggs, Oscar Williams and Zell Morrow. Perhaps they'll be a new recording, but it's doubtful.
If they make a bunch of changes I could see PSClassics just recording the new material and rerecording songs with new cast members like they did with the Grey Gardens cast album. At the very least I wouldn't mind a reissue with the new artwork.
And the current recording is pretty wonderful. I wouldn't expect a new one to he made
It makes no financial sense.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
A re-issue isn't unprecedented- Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson's cast recording was re-issued to reflect its Broadway artwork, for example. I certainly would not find it unwelcome, since I think the Public artwork for Fun Home was garish.
"...everyone finally shut up, and the audience could enjoy the beginning of the Anatevka Pogram in peace."
How will it help with the Tonys? That doesn't even make sense.

If it's the artwork I remember, it's taken directly from the graphic novel. I like it.
^The covers I've seen are a shade of blue or green and have different art. I haven't seen the bright red artwork used for the graphic novel.

Oh, I have the download from iTunes and it's the blue artwork with the red background from the book. If you haven't read the book, it's lovely. The tone is a bit different. It's wonderful in a different way. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't.
