Hiya fairly new to this site been reading lots Over the last few weeks, my partner and I are travelling to New York for our first ever visit In January 16th to the 20th and want to see at least two shows just wanted some advice on where to get tickets of it's better to get them in advance it should I wait till I get there any advice about shows and tickets etc will Be greatly recieved would love to see pippin and not sure what else not too keen on seeing anything I can see here as were only there for a short time would rather see something I can't see back home. Thanks Josh
If you don't get here often and aren't planning to do any rush/lottery/SRO, then buying in advance is probably best. But you should probably wait until the discount codes for your shows include your dates. Like if you go on BroadwayBox, the PIppin discounts are currently through December 21. So, I'd bookmark the Pippin page and just see when it extends to include your dates and then buy.
Unless you rather get a great seat and discounts aren't an issue, in which case just be sure to go to telecharge.com, so you don't even up on a broker site paying more than you should.
The dates that you've given for your visit is the slump season for Broadway. You should buy your tickets when you're here because plenty of discounts will be available.
Check out www.BroadwayHelper.com which includes discount codes for buying tickets in advance. Under details, it also lists if the show will tour -- and PIPPIN is touring.
Thanks again to everyone forgot to say I'm from the uk so not sure if pippin will come here would love to hope but who knows? Strangely enough Matthew James Thomas used to teach me singing I went to his moms dance school and that's about m biggest claim to fame! Anyhow back on topic ...
