While researching Joan Rivers career for my job in the wake of her death, I came across this charming little nugget.
Even taking into consideration that this was a different time, Jerry comes off as almost sociopathic and sadistic here talking about whipping his son.
In an interview we did with Joan, she'd claimed that Jerry walked off the set. He doesn't, but I could see him being very angry and storming off after the show ends.
Years ago, Jerry Lewis was appearing in a comedy show at the Candlewood Playhouse in New Fairfield, CT. A local nurse who was a devoted fan, brought her 10-year old son to the show for his birthday. Loved the show, and at the end waited at the stage door to see him. They happened to be at the very front of the door. Jerry came out with several people around him and was glibly saying hello to the crowd, nothing personal, no autographs. Jerry was carrying a tape recorder, and the little boy was curious about it and touched it. Jerry kicked the boy out of his way and loudly said, "Jesus get me the hell out of this place."
I was at a Jerry Lewis Q & A years ago. A lady raised her hand and said "Jerry, my 14 year old son does an imitation of you..."
The audience started to clap. Jerry goes "Should we? Should we do? She we LET?"- he beckons the kid to come on-stage.
Jerry gives the 14 year old the microphone, and the kid starts singing, in Jerry's serious voice "When you walk, through a st-" Jerry snaps the mic from the kid and goes "NO! You don't DO THAT!". The poor kid walks back to his seat all red-faced. As he's sitting down Jerry says:
"THAT ladies and gentlemen is what is known in the business as a TRAIN WRECK!"
Really?! You post a link to your own website to get hits and complain when someone has something to say about it? Get outta show business if you can't take the heat!!
It is, indeed, hideous.
(lol at the Geocities comment!)
"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
Glad you like to trash my site. I don't need hits from this site I get plenty of traffic.
I wanted to share an interview with Jerry Lewis. I think it is a good interview. So disgusted with the vile trashing for no reason. Anyway, adios. Updated On: 9/30/14 at 12:10 AM
Of COURSE he's a terrible person but I found that press conference kinda funny. I loved when he yelled "HAHHH?" to Corine and his bit with the mic and I agree about the love affair between two men in "The Stooge."
Jerry could not hear the question. I just think it is awful how you all are bullies which is why I rarely read or post on this site. FYI the site has 38,000 articles and five ads Jersey Girl. You can all go jump off a cliff.
Jerry is a dick. He still uses the word Faigele. Corine is not worried about traffic on her site. If she was she would run that ridiculously offensive John Kander interview she did. People do love watching train wrecks.
