Parade should always be running on Broadway. I would be interested to see what Chrstian Borle and Stephanie J. Block would do with the roles.

Urinetown with Andrew Kennan-Bolger as Bobby, Annaleigh Ashford as Hope, and Keala Settle as Pennywise (can you imagine her singing "Privilege to Pee"?!?!)

in the original production in the 80s, it made sense for marie, the daughter of a painter from the 1800s, to still be alive (even if she is extremely old). however, its been nearly 30 years since the original production, and it may be too late for this to still be plausible.

Why would they not just set the second act in the 80s then?

or Sunday in the Park's second act could be set in 1984 and not 2016...

I always think about a revival of the Rink just because I think the score is fantastic and among Kander & Ebb's best. on the previous pages of this thread Patti LuPone and Laura Benanti were spoken of doing it hypothetically. Sure, Patti's currently 15 years older than Chita was when she did it but I think the age gap between Patti and Laura would be more believable (Liza is only about a decade younger than Chita). Laura isn't a belter though. Maybe Jessie Mueller as Angel? I just want it done. Have them do it at Encores! and record it and that would be good enough for me.

Even though it was set in the "present" when it premiered, the second act of Sunday is generally kept in 1984, as Company is in 1970 and A Chorus Line is in 1975, regardless of the setting note in the libretto.

Second the Rink! LuPone is a must, but I don't think Benanti is particularly suited to the vocal demands of Angel (and I adore Benanti). I still want Mueller to tackle Fanny and I hope the Encore's Golden Apple leads to a revival. I'm also hoping the Grey Gardens with York and Buckley transfers - it's going to LA this summer.

It would never happen, but I would love a First Daughter Suite transfer. It was such a gem of a show, really my favorite of the season (yes, including Hamilton). As for LaChiusa, I think Bernarda Alba and Queen of the Mist deserve more attention. And of course my previously mentioned Wild Party and Marie Christine.

Not that I think it's been a long time since the last revival, but Playbill Vault lists "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (2017)" at Ford's Theatre. Has anybody heard anything about that?

EDIT: I guess that's in DC - I wasn't aware Playbill Vault listed any other information besides Broadway 9they don't with Off-Broadway productions).

Merrily We Roll Along is being produced in LA next season - read that the workshop had a stellar cast.

Never saw that show so excited for some fresh Sondheim
