Hi Guys,

Just looking for any advice for my trip to New York in June. As a Brit, rush and all that is very new to me, so I would be grateful for any help.

I am planning to see Violet and Cabaret, but planning to buy those directly through the Roundabout's website (unless you guys know of any even cheaper ways to get hold of tickets).

Other shows I am interested in are:
- A Gentleman's Guide To Love and Murder
- The Bridges Of Madison County
- If/Then (maybe, not to sure on this one)
- Pippin (again not to sure).

If anyone has any advice on rush or discounts for these that would be great. Also open to any other suggestions, play wise and off-broadway if you have any recommendations, although I am not looking to see anything I can see in London or is likely to transfer.

Thanks

Most up-to-date-rush policies

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Rush is quite simple. Confirm if the show is a general or student rush. Make sure you have student ID if necessary. Based on how popular the show is (check the link provided above) you arrive at the theater's box office early and wait. At 10a they'll sell you a ticket. They're usually far side orchestra seats, but not always.

The four shows you're interested in are all worth seeing. (Some might disagree that If/Then is worth it, but the cast is stellar.) I loved Pippin and this production is excellent. I also loved your other choices too.

If you're concerned about transfers, I suspect The Bridges of Madison County is the one most likely not to transfer. It has a gorgeous score and some brilliant performances by the two leads, Kelli O'Hara and Steven Pasquale. I also think If/Then probably won't cross the pond. Not sure about A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. I can see it playing quite well to a London audience, although its box office hasn't been strong. I think Pippin is likely to make it to the West End.
