it's also been rumored that Robin Williams is broke, hence his return to a sitcom(The Crazy Ones). His sitcom still hasn't been renewed for a second season.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Yes, sounds like it ACL. It amazes me that this man cannot get the big Hollywood jobs anymore. How is that even possible?
From Parade:
In addition to the appeal of a program created by TV vet David E. Kelley, he told Parade that part of the show's appeal was "having a steady job," adding, "I have two [other] choices: go on the road doing stand-up, or do small, independent movies working almost for scale [minimum union pay]. The movies are good, but a lot of times they don't even have distribution. There are bills to pay. My life has downsized, in a good way. I'm selling the ranch up in Napa. I just can't afford it anymore."
Another thing he can't afford? One more divorce. When asked if he'd lost all his money to his exes, Williams admitted that his failed marriages have taken a sizable chunk out of his bank account. "Well, not all. Lost enough," he told the magazine. "Divorce is expensive. I used to joke they were going to call it 'all the money,' but they changed it to 'alimony.' It's ripping your heart out through your wallet. Are things good with my exes? Yes. But do I need that lifestyle? No."
I've wondered if he'll attempt to bring his stand-up back to Broadway for a limited run(3 or 4 weeks).

Not that anyone athked, but Mara Wilthon tweeted that she hath no interetht in the Doubtfire theequel. Theequelth thuck, unleth they are part of a planned trilogy.
Has there ever been a successful sequel that arrived twenty-some years after the original? I can't think of any off the top of my head, and it's part of the reason I hope that the often "announced" sequels to movies like Ghostbusters and The Goonies don't happen.
If he still has a ranch to sell in Nappa, he's not exactly broke. Economizing, yes. He hasn't starred in a hit film in almost 20 years. Not that he isn't doing interesting work, but it doesn't support his (excessive) lifestyle.
Robin is also very generous with his money. He stepped in and paid (close friend) Christopher Reeves' exorbitant medical bills after his accident.
"Jaws is the Citizen Kane of movies."

What in the world would the story be? 60-something man dons drag to get close to his grandchildren? No one from the original cast could be in the picture because they'd all recognize Mrs. Doubtfire. Just can't wrap my head around this one.
"And don't forget that at the end of the film, Mrs. Doubtfire starred in her own TV show, so a lot of people would know who she is."
Maybe it will be about the lawsuit that is brought against the character to cover the psychological damage to millions of children when they discover their favorite TV grandma is really a man?

Bambi 2? :P Kidding... The only one I can think of is The Hustler/Colour of Money.
Wasn't there a sequel or remake in the works a number of years ago with Tim Allen?
Anyway - Mrs Doubtfire really is a favourite movie of mine, but I just don't see how they could take the story any further. One of the great things about the original was that the ending was so perfect. We don't need to know if Daniel and Miranda ever got back together (although we assume they don't), we don't need to know about his new TV show in detail.
I think a sequel may just turn into a cliche comedy movie that we see dozens of every year. I mean aside from his TV show, there's just no reason that Daniel would dress up as Mrs Doubtfire again.
The original sequel idea (a year or two after the first) was him following his daughter to college and being a "house mother" of sorts.
The tv show at the end was just San Fransisco local tv, so there's a chance girls at the college wouldn't have seen it. But now? There's no reason for him to become her again, not even to get in good with his grand kids or whatever.
