I work at a college with a film production program... trust me I have sat through some crap films... none of which come close to being as poorly produced as this. It looks like they had $10 and a flipcam. I am always partial to seeing production footage in an ad for a live stage show...just a thought... that is unless Bridges is sponsored by Canesten, Vagisil, or the super jumbo version of Always.
I've seen this commercial several times over the past week or so and every time it comes on, it takes way too long for it to register that it is, in fact, a real commercial. (I was actually embarrassed when it came on last night while my mom and I were watching TV.)
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

Yeah, this isn't really hyperbole. It is the truth. It is god awful and I'm actually quite embarrassed for the agency that was hired to produce this. Can anyone dig up some background info on this? Maybe even some kind of response/comment from the team?
I'd also like to point out the power of BWW. Their video went from having 200 views in one week to 1,500+ views since this was posted three days ago. It's time for Producers who have resisted to finally embrace online message boards.
Haven't had a chuckle like that from this Board since watching the YouTube postings of bad high school theater. Thank you for posting that. I have zero interest in seeing this show (although must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed the film) but that TV spot is weak.

Well, generally you have two choices, right? Serino/Coyne or Spotco. I'm assuming it's Serino/Coyne given that they've been tweeting about Bridges. They certainly haven't put a lot any of the Bridges artwork on their site which perhaps suggests they aren't terribly proud of it. I have to assume the producers either under-budgeted for marketing and/or the communications between the Serino/Coyne account supervisor and the Bridges producers simply broke down.
Seems like an unfortunate mistake for Serino/Coyne given their history as pioneers in theatrical advertising. Can't imagine Ms. Coyne was terribly pleased.
You know what, I could be wrong about Serino/Coyne. They've tweeted about Bridges opening on Broadway, but they don't list Bridges as one of their clients on their site. Neither does SpotCo. I thought these two agencies were the only ones in the game. Perhaps it's someone else?
