Only curious if anyone knows. Will the National Tour of Peter & the Star Catcher play the Pantages or the Ahmanson when it gets to Los Angeles? I'm assuming the later as I can't remember the Pantages ever hosting a play. (Although I'm sure they must have done one or two)

While I wish I was in NYC more often, i can take heart in that if there is a national tour, it will come to LA.

I'm inclined to think the PETER tour will be one of the many that gets announced at Tony time in order to appeal to road voters but never actually comes to fruition. The regional premiere of the show is set for next summer at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, which I would think wouldn't be happening if a tour was a legitimate possibility.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

There could certainly be regional productions happening in tandem with a mini-tour of LA/SF and maybe another major city. It's happened a few times recently with shows like Caroline or Change.

I spoke to Matt D'Amico (who plays Slank) at the stagedoor about a month ago, and he confirmed the tour is happening, and Los Angeles was one of the cities he mentioned.

Seems a more likely choice for Mark Taper Forum (but I'm not sure if they ever do tours there -- I think they prefer local productions).

"The Little Dog Laughed" played The Kirk Douglas Theater in Culver City with most of the original Broadway cast.

Why would THIS year's Tonys have anything to do with Peter THIS year? It's not eligible, so they have no reason to affect voters.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I think somethingwicked meant it will turn out to be one of the tours that was announced around the Tonys last year, but the tour won't actually happen in the future.

The tour (which was, indeed, announced at prime Tony-voting time earlier this year), was stated as starting in August 2013. I would imagine that regional productions in non-tour areas might begin before that. As tour stops haven't been announced yet outside of Denver, it's too early to know what L.A. will get.
