It's pronounced "Anna Lisa" the rest is easy, let's move on. Happy to see this thread resurrected! Youtube her if you haven't heard her. She was the final Belle in Beauty and the Beast as well as one of three cast members in Second Stage's Vanities. Her big claim to fame was that she was the red-headed side kick to Raven Symone on That's So Raven.
OK you have some good points but an unusual name can also set someone apart from the crowd, that can be an advantage. The name shouldn´t be too difficult but something exotic can help.
Anneliese is one of my favorite female names; it's actually growing in popularity quite a bit in America. I love the original pronunciation 'Ana-Lisa' too. I personally think she has a great stage name. Many people don't realize, she was born in the Netherlands.

I didn't know that you determine when we have to move on. I think Besty made some great points and used perfect examples - don't just throw it away. Also, I'm pretty sure you are just focusing on the first part of that. There's about three other parts and they're spelled out as V-a-n D-e-r P-o-l. Too much.
I"m not saying it will guarantee she works more. There may be a million reasons why she doesn't. And having a "simple" or "accessible" name doesn't guarantee success.
But why start out with such a handicap? Show business is tough enough.
"Jaws is the Citizen Kane of movies."
