I haven't seen a TON of SNL skits, but definitely one of my personal favorites is the one with Tim Meadows trying to get a census report from Christopher Walken. I think it's on youtube somewhere...hilarious.

Mr. Bill

Hmmm...I am not seeing my last post. I posted that I also liked the Schiller's Reel "La Dolce Gilda". Pretty classic SNL.

Also the No Coke, Pepsi diner. (Which is based on a diner here in Denver. I have actually been to it and it is pretty much like it is portrayed in the sketches)

Gilda's douche was Autumn Fizz.

Gilda doing "Dancing In The Dark" with Steve Martin. Hilarious and, in retrospect, really moving.

Anything involving The Sweeney Sisters. Goddesses.

There was a one-off sketch with Alec Baldwin, where he played this impossible cowboy stud flirting up a storm with a waitress in a small town diner, with Jan Hooks as the waitress, that I still remember.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

uncage - I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but the "cheezborger, cheezborger, no coke, pepsi" sketch was based on the legendary Billy Goat Tavern on Lower Michigan Avenue in Chicago. Ackroyd & Belushi used to go there regularly. It's a favorite hangout for newspaper writers, located near the Tribune and the old Sun-Times offices.

I met both Dana Carvey and Colin Quin. I'll explain both times for those interested.

Dana Carvey April 28th, 2003

He was doing a benefit at the Auditorium theatre here, in Chicago. My uncle was catering. I knew Dana not from SNL (I was only 9) But from the movie "Master Of Disguise". I went back to his dressing room after the benefit he was sitting back there and signed a Master Of Disguise DVD booklet and took a picture. It was amazing to do that, especially on a schoolnight.

Colin Quinn December 16th, 2004

He also, was doing a benefit. I was'nt aloud in, though. I met him afterwards, he signed an autogrpah and I told him my favorite sketch. He also signed an autograph for my friend at the time. She didn't really like SNL. I regret getting her that autograph due to the fact that she probally threw it away.
