I never had the chance to see The Full Monty, but I saw a performance of "let it go" on the 2001 Tony Awards. Was that the same performance that was normally done in the show? In the Tony performance they removed their g-strings and had a hat covering their frontal area. When they removed the hats, the lights from behind them became almost blinding and you couldn't see any nakedness. Just wondering if that performance was altered just for TV.

No, I believe those lights were in the show.

The male cast of THE FULL MONTY (including Patrick Wilson)

ditto.

You can only see it for a split second in the show before the lights.

Emcee, I can't believe you replied to someone this thread and didn't answer the original question re: Who Have You Seen Naked on Stage?

There is no actual nudity in The Color Purple. The actress playing Shug wears a nude suit and gets out of a bathtub with very little light.

Judith Ivey in STEAMING
David Burtka in THE PLAY ABOUT THE BABY

Funny, that's all I can think of at the moment.

Oh psh, fine. I wasn't going to because it's awkward, but... well, awkward is as awkward does, I suppose. re: Who Have You Seen Naked on Stage?

Raúl Esparza in The Normal Heart
Johnny Galecki The Little Dog Laughed (... did Neal Huff take off his clothes, too? I can't even remember.)
I can't remember who in Some Men.
Red Light Winter had some nudity...

I, personally, wouldn't count the Act I finale to Cabaret as legitimately seeing someone naked, but if we are, then Adam Pascal and Jon Secada.

I feel like I'm missing something, but I'd be ashamed if I put much more thought into this. =P

What a fun thread! I've seen the cast of Naked Boys Singing and the Broadway and Old Globe casts of Take Me Out. Lea Michelle and Jonathan Groff in Spring Awakening and a few Maureen butts in Rent. Also a regional cast of Hair here in San Diego.

I rushed The Full Monty, so I was in the front row, and the lights didn't affect me. So I have a more legit claim than most.

Also Edie Falco and Stanley Tucci in Frankie and Johnny, Alice Ripley and Kristen Lee Kelly in Rocky Horror, and everyone in Take Me Out besides Denis O'Hare and the old guy.

I haven't been able to comprehend a single post in this thread since reading the words "John Stamos and Raul Esparza" together.

Yup -- all the actresses who play Shug Avery in THE COLOR PURPLE are wearing a skin-colored body suit which is quite visible to those in the mezzanine and mid-rear orchestra.

Also, let's not forget Nicole Kiddman in THE BLUE ROOM. You really couldn't see anything due to the lighting and also the fact that it does take place rather quickly. Now...the actor playing the male role is another story (nude cartwheels, anyone?).

Hunter Foster's butt in the 1994 GREASE! revival.
