Saw the show several times in previews and decided to go back again last night (thank you general rush!!). Having listened to the recording non-stop for the last 10 days, I definitely did not feel like any of the tempos were slower. If anything, they actually had more drive.
For those wondering, the house was bigger than I expected, but by no means full. The orchestra was at about 85-90%, and the mezz was about 20% full. Decent for a Tuesday...
The show is still as beautiful as always, if not flawed. Each of the performers have added so many nuances and delicate touches to their roles that have only enhanced the production. It's really interesting to see how different certain line readings are now than what they were a few months ago. The audience last night was also the most vocal and responsive of all the times I've been.
I don't expect this piece to last much longer, but gosh, it's been swell being able to experience it.
