I loved it.  Felt like the Richie/Patrick storyline was wrapped up too quickly, but they only had a bit of time to wrap up a lot of loose ends.  Was impressed by Jonathan Groff's range of emotion throughout and what Russell Tovey was able to convey in such a short amount of time.  So beautiful to reconnect with those characters, especially after what's gone on in Orlando.  It was comforting to revisit that group of friends.

So, who wins? Richie or Patrick?

Winning isn't really the best description for ending up with Patrick is it?

It's really worth watching and getting invested in the characters, so I won't spoil it, but if you care that much to have it spoiled, I'm sure you can google it or find it on IMDB.  Still thinking about it 24 hours later.

Moderate fan of the series-- huge fan of this wrap-up movie. I was touched by the appearance of Cleve Jones-- very classy of the show.

This series always hit the sweet spot for me of a Millenial updating of the old Queer as Folk series, but with infinitely better writing and way more honest treatments of gay sex (finally!) In this wrap-up movie, I really responded to that make-out attempt between best friends Patrick and Dom. Beautiful and honest and recognizable for ANY gay best friends who wonder whether their true soulmate might be standing right beside them all along. Loved the nasty scene of full closure with Russell Tovey-- satisfyingly conclusive. Loved the final pullback shot showing the interior of the all-night diner on Market St with the original core cast, then pulling out wider and wider to show all of Castro St-- great idea for a final curtain.

On a personal note, I couldn't help welling up when Tyne Daly met our gang atop the marble staircase in the rotunda of City Hall to marry Agustin and Eddie. That was the staircase from which I married my beloved partner Paul, not once but twice, back in 2004 and then again in 2008. For me there is no more sacred a spot in all of San Francisco.

I liked the movie and I'm glad it was able to provide some closure for the story and for the fans but for me it suffered from the same issues the show had. I wanted more Patrick and Richie and less gay weddings and chicken windows. Even in the movie the Patrick and Richie storyline seemed like an afterthought thrown in at the last minute just to tie everything up. Their storyline deserved more screen time. It wasn't that I didn't care about the other characters I just didn't care about chicken.

The sex scene Jonathan had with Michael "On the Town" Rosen was quite graphic, even for HBO. For a finale, the movie was good in tying up the loose ends.

I didn't think it was graphic. Maybe I've been watching too much Sean Cody.

In a July 19 interview with the Daily Beast, Jonathan Groff talks about why the sex scenes in ''Looking'' aren't just salacious, and references the one (with Michael Rosen) that left tongues wagging.

The prurient details of filming his analingus scene didn't interest me. But what impressed me most in that Daily Beast piece was the story about Groff calling (sometimes gravely ill) children as Kristoff and Sven from Frozen. I think that is indicative of his inherent goodness as a human being.

Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

ALL of this. (perhaps because the spot at the top of the stairs was also my spot in 2008 - in 2004, we were at the foot of the stairs) ...although as a boomer, I'm FAR from a millennial.
