Yeah, I think he only works a few days a week on the show, Cerveris' role is a lot smaller not to mention temporary.

Um, I've never been to an auction or Broadway Cares event of any kind. Sorry.

LOL. Someone is in a bitchy mood today, personally attacking me for zero reason. I have been using gifs since I became a poster here, I don't try to be Clyde, and that was for my sweet friend, haterobics.

Bump

So for anyone who saw him and one of the other Hedwigs, I saw Andrew Rannells and have seen videos of NPH. This is a weird question, but does MCH curse as much as Andrew did? I was just wondering because for example, NPH used to say

Someone should buy you a vowel

As opposed to Andrew Rannells who said

Someone should buy you a F***ING vowel

I don't know comparing an NPH video, and one AR show should lead you to believe that is how either of them performed every show as Hedwig. Both tried to keep every night a bit different. Plus, we know NPH famously told someone who shouted at him that "I'm doing something up here, mother****er." So, if three people saw MCH they may have three different, albeit correct answers for you.

Andrew definitely did curse more than Neil did, though. Neil toned it down and frequently only cursed excessively at the 10pm performances. Andrew would curse almost every time he ad-libbed.

MCH doesn't swear that much.

Yeah, I can only remember Michael cursing a few times last night (not a lot.) I thought he did a great job.

I saw him this past Tuesday night. The energy will never level Neil (I saw it on his last day, so I'm pretty biased). But I thought Michael did a wonderful job. At first it felt a little flat and it took a little for the Tuesday night crowd to warm-up but as it went on he got better and the audience was laughing and enjoying it. In a way I liked this, because it felt more accurate. Like it really was Hedwig's first performance and the crowd was taking a little to warm up to her. Michael's voice is definitely not as strong, but it's still good. he didn't curse from my memory, and his improv worked fine the night I saw it.
I love the charm he brought to the character. When he came on the look of excitement and joy on his face was so cute and then his Hedwig ended up being pretty vulnerable. And as another poster said, his Hedwig was not as bitchy as Neils. But overall I really liked him!

No it was not. I could not really see the mezzanine, or orchestra because I was up in the balcony. The center section of the balcony was full, while the side sections were a quarte full each. While I couldn't see the other areas it still sounded like there was a lot of people?

I was going to ask about that. It usually seems like withshows that are that expensive the balcony goes first from people getting the cheaper tickets. Is that not the case with Hedwig?

Also another poster had asked about people in costume. The girl in front if me had her hair up in two missive ponytails, a headband with a Ken Barbie doll torso and head attached, and some crazy black tutu skirt. But that's all I saw

Saw it Friday night. It was AMAZING. It was my first introduction to Hedwig (only heard bits and pieces of the music). First off, what a looker he is. I was going in with low expectations with his voice, but he blew me away. His acting was impeccable. I loved the entire show. We were sitting about third row in the balcony so we couldn't see what he did in the audience… I only got to see him kiss a balding older man in the front row. Shannon Conley was in for Lena. I thought she did a good job, but didn't really bring anything special to the role for me.

At the end of the show during his BC speech some woman screamed "nice legs Dexter" and he said "sorry" and continued with his speech. He handled it well and I was super annoyed someone would interrupt him in the middle of THAT speech.

Other than that I had a great time and can't imagine how awesome the energy was for NPH!

Wow, this is the first show I've been to where every replacement was better... but yeah, MCH killed it tonight. Great singing, really nailed the dramatic bits, just perfection. He carwashed the seat behind me, and licked the glasses of the guy in front of me, so I was soclose to Hedwig action, oh well... next time. I may have to go see MCH again, despite my plan to see each Hedwig once. Definitely my favorite so far...

I was able to catch this last night on my fall NYC trip and it was so much better than I even expected, and my expectations were high. Michael C Hall was great, good timing, great acting, loved his voice. I've not heard NPH's recording of "Origin of Love" but I kind of need a MCH version asap.

Lena Hall was such a delight to see, I figured she'd be great having won the Tony but was blown away by her. I could not keep my eyes off of her when she was singing "I will always love you" in the background.

I could see myself definitely revisiting this show next time I'm in town.
