Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre Summer Camp is one of the most popular summer acting programs in the area. Since it first began 15 years ago, more and more young people have become interested in performing and learning about live theatre. While the Frederick area is lucky to have many theatre educational opportunities, it has become paramount for parents to find the right program that fits their child's needs. Beginning on Saturday morning, March 5th, Way Off Broadway will begin its registration for the 2011 Children's Theatre Summer Camp.

Way Off Broadway will again offer Drama and Musical Theatre sessions for various age groups, ranging from 6 - 16.

Those participating in the Drama Camp meet 4 days a week for a three-week session. During that time, classes focus on theatre techniques and acting through specific acting exercises and theatre training games. Improvisation is a great part of these exercises and encourages students to work creatively, individually, and with others. Students will also go through the rehearsal process and take part in a performance at the end of their three-week session.

The Musical Theatre camp will meet 4 days a week for a two-week session and incorporate aspects of musical theatre through vocal music, acting exercises, and basic choreography. At the end of the two-week session, students will take part in a mini-production.
