Due to the Big Snow last January, many didn't get to see The OVEN'S critically-acclaimed GONE. Now there is an opportunity to see their new piece, COMMODITIES, a re-conceptualized version of GONE, concerned with the trafficking of American children into the sex trade. The show will be presented December 8 - 18 at Theatre Project, 45 West Preston Street, Baltimore.

Since last January this piece has been presented at Towson University; the Artomatic Festival in Frederick; the Philadelphia Fringe Festival; and most recently at the Women of the World Festival in Baltimore.

The OVEN was founded by Jackson Phippin with an original company consisting of Towson University Alumni. He is also the director of GONE and COMMODITIES. The Present Company consists of Alex Shade, Chelsea Blackwell, Cliff Doby, Jessica Parsell, Kat Kaplan, and Brea Stewart.

"Early in my research for this piece, I was at a table with several young survivors, and as far as they were concerned I was probably going 'blah blah blah,' When one of them looked at me and said, "I would just like to know why?" And so now, I too think harder about this question, and wonder about the evil that lies in the heart of man." -- Jackson Phippin
