As our social and emotional differences corrode our relationships and divide us within our communities, Fells Point Corner Theatre dedicates its 2016/2017 season to reaffirming our belief in each other. This season we want to celebrate our capabilities, our vulnerabilities, and the challenges of being "human," together. #RescueMe is about what binds us together when we need each other, when we can't go it alone, when we must reach out.

With our 2016/2017 Season, FPCT offers a series of powerful dramas and unforgettable comedies, featuring characters in need of a rescue. You won't want to miss it.

The Elephant Man by Bernard Pomerance

September 2, 2016 - October 2, 2016
Directed by Anthony Lane Hinkle
A CoProduction with The Collaborative Theatre Co.

From the production team that brought you last season's smash hit T?he 39 Steps, c?omes the story of a kind soul in a grotesque body who is befriended by a free-thinking surgeon in 19th century London. Brimming with wit and humanity, the events follow John Merrick's ascension from "circus freak" to Victorian Society elites by way of his own intelligence and charm, and the courage of those who saw something within the?"?Elephant Man." 1979 Tony Award Winner for Best Play.

The Whipping Man by Matthew Lopez

October 14, 2016 - October 30, 2016

Directed by Barry Feinstein

As the gun smoke settles after the Civil War, a wounded Jewish Confederate Officer returns to find his family's plantation in ruins. The only waiting company and hope for his survival? Two former slaves. The three men wrestle with their faith, the secrets of their past and the irony of Jewish slave ownership while meagerly fashioning a Passover Seder.

The Divine Sister by Charles Busch

November 18, 2016 - December 18, 2016

Directed by Steve Goldklang

The author of Psycho Beach Party and The Tale of the Allergist's Wife trains his razor sharp wit on Hollywood religiosity in this hilarious salute to every wonderfully awful nun movie you've ever seen! Mother Superior battles to save her deteriorating convent while juggling a mystical postulant with visions, a sexual frenzy in the nunnery, a confused schoolboy and a seductive suitor intent on luring her away from her vows.

*Blackbird by David Harrower
*Availability pending approval from Dramatists Play Service January 13, 2017 - January 29, 2017
Directed by Eric C. Stein

Una is 27. Ray is 55. 15 years after committing the unspeakable crime that sent Ray to prison, he finds himself face to face with his young victim. This haunting and intense work distills theater down to its most essential elements, delivering a heartstopping confrontation between one man and one woman, inextricably bound by a shattering and painful past.

Trust by Steven Dietz

February 17, 2017 - March 19, 2017

Directed by Michael Zemarel

A steamy and sweaty smear of sex, lust and Rock & Roll in the 90's. A radio DJ. A Bohemian.
A rising star and a faded one. Guitar picks, pickups and wedding dresses waiting to be worn. In a fastpaced, grungy grind, how can anyone be trusted when temptation trumps all?

"Though the play's supposed theme is 'trust,' it's really about the fleetingness of passion. And the way it circles back on itself etches in its meaning for a sharper pang."
 T?he Village Voice

10x10x10 (2017)

March 31, 2017 - April 16, 2017

Directors TBD

10 of the area's most talented and perceptive writers contribute to what is sure to be another totally unique and compelling collection of 10minute plays. At end of the show, YOU get to vote on your favorites! Ten actors. Ten plays. Ten minutes each. A love letter to Baltimore Theater, its audiences and its artists and you'll only see it at FPCT!

(title of show) Music and Lyrics by Jeff Bowen, Book by Hunter Bell

April 28, 2017 - May 28, 2017

Directed by Kristen Cooley

A musical comedy about writing a musical comedy and all the madness that goes into it. A boldly original, blisteringly funny, and gloriously selfaware piece where three artists navigate self belief, friendship and art. Sounds improbable, but (title of show) wonderfully captures the spirit of daring to hope you can actually get paid to do what you love!

Alice in Wonderland by the Manhattan Project and Andre Gregory

June 9, 2017 - June 25, 2017

Directed by Kel Millionie
A CoProduction with The Collaborative Theatre Co.

Alice's antic adventures are all here - but with an arresting difference. Lewis Carroll's masterwork is daringly reimagined into a raw and profound journey through the human condition. Shaped palpably by some of the greatest minds of the twentieth century (Freud, Jung, Kafka and Dali) comes a mad take on an epic tale.
