Jackie Evancho Featuring the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to Play Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in May 2013

Soprano prodigy Jackie Evancho will perform songs from her album Songs from the Silver Screenwith the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, May 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The astonishingly talented star made her breakthrough performance at the age of 10 on NBC's "America's Got Talent" and was praised by judge Piers Morgan as being "the whole package."

The 12 year old star has since embarked on an incredible career, defining a genre of classical crossover while performing a range of music from operatic arias to pop standards. As part of her upcoming North American tourMs. Evancho will perform alongside the world-class musicians of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. 

Named on Billboard's list of music movers-and-shakers under the age of 21, Evancho has dominated the Billboard charts. Her debut EP O Holy Night released in 2010 was the year's best-selling debut record with sales of 1 million units and a Platinum certification.  Evancho's studio albumDream with Me, released in June 2011 debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 charts, and earned a Gold certification after only four weeks.  The album, which featured an eclectic mix of genres from opera, to show tunes and pop songs, proved her crossover appeal. Her holiday albumHeavenly Christmas was released in November 2011 and also became one of the most successful holiday releases of the year.
