Victoria Shadle, originally from Central Pennsylvania, is an undergraduate student at Hofstra University studying Dance and International Business. She spent the summer of 2013 interning at Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and has since decided to pursue a career in international arts administration. Victoria is deeply interested in all aspects of the dance world and greatly enjoys the discussions that arise from intriguing performances.

Watching a notable prolific choreographer's company perform two of her historic masterpieces is always a treat. Even more flavorful is when these pieces surround the main course of a world premiere created by a new star in the dance world. Judging from the packed house's resounding applause, it will go down in the minds of many as a decadent meal of modern dance.

The booming applause resounded with meaning last Saturday night, as it practically called out welcome to the club. The dance companies in this club are those well-known few that travel the world and perform at highly regarded dance venues and festivals throughout the nation. It is certainly a sign of success to see the New York debut of a company's work at such a prestigious and well-loved dance venue at The Joyce Theater.
