Katelyn Corp Katelyn was born and raised in Coventry, Rhode Island, but living in the smallest state has never stopped her from having big dreams. She is currently attending the Community College of Rhode Island with a concentration in English, and plans to continue her education in Boston. A borderline-obsessive lover of all things pop culture, she has always had a love for musical theater. Although her limited talent has always kept her in the audience, she is passionate about her writing. She loves to use social media outlets to express her opinions and create discussions on a variety of topics. Katelyn hopes to continue writing and travelling after college with a degree in gender studies and a minor in journalism.

Artists' Exchange is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their One Act Play Festival this summer at Theatre 82 & Cafe in Cranston, Rhode Island. The first wave of the festival began this past weekend, and will continue July 24th and 25th. Featured in the festival are a variety of sixteen original one-act plays, ranging from satirical comedy, to relatable drama, and even some unexpected over-the-top humor. Written by fifteen local and national playwrights and performed in the round in Artists' Exchange new black box space by a fun group of local actors, these short plays will have you laughing right from the start.

The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), North America's largest multi-arts festival, celebrates its 19th anniversary this August 14th-30th. This year, two talented former Community College of Rhode Island students are representing what the Rhode Island theatre community has to offer with their original play Pickles. Playwrights and co-stars Laura Minadeo and Alexander Rotella and their enthusiastic cast are spending their summer preparing for this huge opportunity. I was lucky enough to sit in on a fight choreography session to watch the playwrights and some of the cast in action. Before they got started, Laura, Alex, their close friend and castmate Erin Archer, and I sat down to talk about how Pickles was conceived, their journey so far to FringeNYC, and what the next few months have in store.

On a family vacation at an extravagant summer resort called Kellerman's in her last summer before attending college and living out her dreams of joining the Peace Corps and changing the world, Baby meets resident bad boy dance instructor Johnny Castle and their whirlwind romance is exciting, inspiring, and unforgettable.
