A provocative new play currently in development is getting its first staged reading today, June 27 at Pearl Studios for industry professionals and invited guests.

Inspired by countless conversations between writers Bruce Jones and Jonathan Mello What We Look Like is an original new play that explores navigating relationships and body image within the societal structure of the queer community. "This play is a dream come true" remarks co-writer Mello. "We had an idea of this story two years ago and have watched it take shape into an important piece worth sharing with audiences." Writer Bruce Jones added, "This is a piece with characters that have yet to be seen in a queer play let alone on stage. We feel it has voice and purpose for all audiences."

The reading will be directed by Kimille Howard and feature: Bruce Jones (Tour: Hair, Off B'way: Marie Christine), Jonathan Mello (Off B'way: It Takes Life), Adam Hyndman (Off B'way/Tour: 50 Shades), Jonathan Huggins (Off B'way: The Mysteries at the Flea Theater). A meet and greet is scheduled to follow.

Additional readings and workshops will follow the initial staged reading with a full production slated during the spring of 2016.
