Neil Patrick Harris, currently starring on Broadway in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, stopped by last night's Late Show with David Letterman and spoke about interacting in character with the Broadway theater audience. "I'm in heels, a giant wig and make-up," he explains. "I get to interact with the audience and crazy stuff happens!"

Later in the appearance, NPH talks about filming the final season of the CBS comedy 'How I Met Your Mother.'

HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH opened last week at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street) to rave reviews. In addition, the show has been honored with nominations for Best Revival of a Musical by the Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards, Harris has been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical and both Harris and Lena Hall have received Drama League citations.

Neil Patrick Harris returns to Broadway in the new production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the musical with book by John Cameron Mitchell and music and lyrics by Stephen Trask, directed by Michael Mayer. The limited engagement, featuring Lena Hall (Kinky Boots, lead singer of The Deafening) is playing at the Belasco Theatre (111 West 44th Street).

HEDWIG is Harris' first appearance on Broadway since he starred as The Balladeer/Lee Harvey Oswald in the 2004 Tony-winning revival of Assassins. His other Broadway credits include Proof and Cabaret. He recently wrapped production for the final season of the beloved CBS comedy "How I Met Your Mother" and has been honored with four Emmy Awards: three for his acclaimed hosting of the Tony Awards and another for his guest-starring role on "Glee." His upcoming film projects include Fox's Gone Girl, Universal's A Million Ways to Die in the West, and Disney/Pixar's The Good Dinosaur.
