While speaking with ET at yesterday's Hollywood premiere of the upcoming animated film "Kubo and the Two Strings", Tony Award winner Marissa Jaret Winokur teased that she may be returning to Baltimore for a cameo appearance in NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE!

The actress, who originated the role of Tracy Turnblad on Broadway in 2002 and picked up a Tony Award for her stellar performance shared, "I'm down for anything. I just want to be a part of it and have fun. I'm excited."

For NBC's live broadcast of the show, airing December 7th, newcomer Maddie Baillio will take on the iconic role opposite Harvey Fierstein, who will be reprising his Broadway turn as Edna Turnblad. Winokur had nothing but praise for the young actress, gushing, "She's just amazing and wonderful and young and sweet and perfect. I'm so excited for her. I can't wait."

She adds, "Tracy Turnblad represents all of America. All the girls. We all love Tracy so much. [I told Baillio], 'Just love her and embrace her.'"

NBC's HAIRSPRAY LIVE will air Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will originate from Los Angeles. The all-star cast includes Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Mabel, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad and Derek Hough as Corny Collins.

Based on the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, "Hairspray Live!" takes place in 1962 Baltimore. Teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on "The Corny Collins Show," a local TV program. When, against all odds, Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight and meets a colorful array of characters, including the resident dreamboat, Link; the ambitious mean girl, Amber; an African-American boy she meets in detention, Seaweed; and his mother, Motormouth Maybelle, the owner of a local record store. Tracy's mother is the indomitable Edna Turnblad, and she eventually encourages Tracy on her campaign to integrate the all-white "Corny Collins Show."
