Tony Tripodi uses poetic verse to reflect on celebratory events in his new collection, "Poems of Celebration and Reflection" (published by iUniverse).

The poems in "Poems of Celebration and Reflection" focus on significant events in Tripodi's life - some are personal and some are widely known - during 2012 and 2013. Covering a wide range of emotions. Tripodi ruminates on the feelings of despair brought on by tragic events and depicts scenes of love and adoration when writing about Thanksgiving, Father's Day, Mother's Day and patriotic holidays, among others. Other holidays give him the chance to reflect on his life, and although all the experiences are filtered through his personal lens, readers from all walks of life will find something to relate to in this ambitious collection.

An excerpt from the poem, "Christmas":

"Christmas will soon be here, and
I will go to St. Patrick's Cathedral
in New York City to pray
for peace in the world."
