In tribute to playwright SIMON GRAY, who passed away on Wednesday, THEATER TALK will reair their 2006 interview with the witty and articulate writer, tonight at 12:30 AM on Thirteen.

Tony nominated playwright Simon Gray died on August 7th, 2008 in his London home from lung cancer. He was 71 years old. The British playwright wrote over thirty plays, most notably Butley and Otherwise Engaged, both of which earned him Tony nominations. Butley was revived on Broadway in 2006 starring Nathan Lane. He collaborated with playwright and director Harold Pinter seven times. He was also frequently known for casting actor Alan Bates.

In addition to theatre, Gray wrote dozens of television scripts and screenplays including the series "After Pilkington". He also wrote the novels "Simple People" and "Breaking Hearts."

"Theater Talk" is a news/discussion television series devoted to the world of the stage. It began on New York television in 1993, and is one of the few independent productions on PBS, now syndicated to a growing number of stations throughout the country, including those in Rochester, Syracuse, Schenectady, Binghamton, Albany, Buffalo, Watertown and Elmira in New York, Providence, RI; Odessa, Texas; Eureka, Kansas; Sacramento and Redding, California; Missoula, Montana; Steubenville, Ohio and Washington, DC.
