The Theater People Podcast Welcomes Tony-Winner Laura Benanti

On Monday, September 13, the Theater People podcast welcomes Tony-winner Laura Benanti. This is the first of two interviews in which Benanti will be featured on the podcast, The second part of will be released in two weeks!

Benanti made her Broadway debut in the ensemble of the 1998 production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, she eventually took over the lead role of Maria. She is Tony-nominated for her work in SWING, INTO THE WOODS, and WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her work in the 2008 production of GYPSY. She has also appeared in NINE, THE WEDDING SINGER, and IN THE NEXT ROOM.

In addition to numerous other TV appearances, she played Countess Elsa Scrader in NBC's THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE This season, Laura returns to Broadway in Roundabout Theater Company's She Loves Me.
