The Jewish Museum launches its fall 2010 season of family programs in September with a lively array of concerts, art workshops, music classes, film days, and more. The fall line-up includes concerts by the Funkey Monkeys on Sunday, October 10, Hot Peas ‘N Butter on Sunday, October 17, and Justin Roberts on Sunday, October 24; Houdini Family Day on Sunday, November 14; Hanukkah Family Day on Sunday, December 5; and a performance of Peter and the Wolf by the Pushcart Players on Sunday, December 12. Other highlights are a drop-in Rosh Hashanah art workshop on Sunday, September 12; Tuesday music classes with Music for Aardvarks for toddlers from September 14 to November 16; and Family Film Days on Monday and Tuesday, December 27 and 28.

In addition, families can visit Archaeology Zone: Discovering Treasures from Playgrounds to Palaces. In this engaging and thoroughly interactive experience, children become archaeologists as they search for clues about ancient and modern objects. Visitors can discover what happens after archaeologists unearth artifacts and bring them back to their labs for in-depth analysis. Children ages 3 through 10 magnify, sketch and weigh objects from the past and the present, piece together clay fragments, interpret symbols, and dress in costumes. The children's exhibition is open every day except Wednesday and Saturday.
