A spokesman for the NYPD's Office of the Deputy Commissioner for Public Information has confirmed that they evacuated an area in Times Square while a bomb squad investigated a suspicious package.

The suspicious package was reported to be in front of the Marriott Marquis hotel, located at 1535 Broadway, a hotel that not only hosts a broadway house, but has many theaters in close range.

Officials gave the "all clear" at around 3p.m. this afternoon, in which employees of the hotel, as well as guests, were free to enter the hotel once more.
