Empire's very own Impresario, Ross Mollison (producer of Empire by Spiegelworld) and an entourage of tent pitchers will, for the first time in recorded history, pitch a circus tent in the heart of Times Square today, May 18, 2012 at 2 p.m. at 265 West 45th Street Between Broadway and 8th Avenue.

Reinventing the traditions of circus, cabaret, variety and burlesque for the 21st century audience, Spiegelworld is planning its eagerly awaited East Coast return with a 15-week, summertime engagement in New York. Entitled Empire, this all new show will land in the heart of Broadway, pitching its infamous tent at 265 West 45th Street.

Spiegelworld came to life in New York City in the summer of 2006. At its core is a unique venue; a heritage 440-seat Belgian spiegeltent. Popular across Europe during the early 20th century, the luxurious traveling spiegeltents were used as dance halls and music/cabaret venues, featuring intimate in-the-round seating, ornate wooden paneling, mirrors, stained-glass windows, and velvet-upholstered seating booths. Previews for Empire will begin on May 22, 2012, with an official opening night set for May 31, 2012.
