Director and playwright Charles Curtis, will premiere Curtis' newest stage play, Strings tonight, December 19, 2014, at the Shetler Studios and Theatres, 244 West 54th Street, Manhattan. Strings follows one man's road to execution, and hopefully, another toward redemption. With a few hours before Man's hearing and execution, the only person that wants Man to live is his brand new lawyer, Derek. While Derek prepares to defend a man he just met, for a trial they each find that they some things are inescapable.

"I am particularly proud of this work, and am extremely excited to be working with the cast on this project. I wanted to challenge myself in writing this new piece, and in doing so, I found a piece that continues transform before my eyes. I only hope that they audience loves this piece as much as the cast and crew."

"Strings" will be performed in Penthouse 1 of Shetler Studios and Theatres on December 19-20, 2014. Admission for the shows are $20. Show times are 8pm for the December 19th show and 3pm for December 20th. Charles Curtis is a musician, actor, director, commissioned playwright, performance coach and teaching artist. Mr. Curtis' work was featured at the 2011 National Black Theatre Festival's Series of New Plays, as well as the 2014 DC Black Theatre Festival. While his performance credits span performances in opera, musicals, and stage plays. Curtis has earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Voice Performance from Presbyterian College prior to his graduate studies in Music and Counseling at the University of South Carolina.
