Brief Synopsis:
You think you've had some bad dinner parties? It's 1987. Big hair, shoulder pads, and Madonna are all the rage. Brooke, an ambitious junior executive, invites her boss and his wife over for dinner in the hopes of securing a promotion. Her husband comes home suffering a back injury from a now ex-employee who won't take "fired" for an answer, and the hired help turns out to be the boss' ex-daughter-in-law. A riotous farce complete with doors slamming, appetizers flying, and candlesticks attacking - all before dinner is even served. And Brooke's boss has an announcement to make....

Roles:
Caren: Mid 20s to early 30s. A perfectionist caterer who is overwhelmed and startled easily.

Brooke: A junior executive in her late 20s or 30s. A driven professional woman who is determined to impress. Appearances are everything to her.

Donny: Brooke's husband. A book store owner in his late 20s or 30s. He is a former executive who has opted to get out of the rat race and lead a more relaxed lifestyle.

Max: Donny's assistant at the bookstore, 20s. He refuses to remain fired from his job. He is persistent and annoyingly charming. A total klutz.

Julia: Brooke's assistant, 20s. Someone who will come to Brooke's rescue, she is a calming individual and much more relaxed than Brooke, yet ends up getting wrapped up in the chaos of the dinner.

Stephen: Julia's boyfriend, 20s. A former bartender.

Will: A blustery CEO and Brooke's boss, 50s to 60s. His presence alone is intimidating. Think the Mayor of the TV show "Spin City."

Louise: Will's wife, 50s to 60s. The kind of woman who has made a career of being a wife to a powerful man.

All roles are available.
