The Public Theater has announce that casting is complete for A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Daniel Sullivan, the second and final production of Shakespeare in the Park's 'Summer of Love.' Previews will begin on Tuesday, August 7th with performances continuing for five weeks through September 9th.  The press opening will be Sunday, August 23rd .

The cast includes Jason Antoon (Burleigh Grime$, Contact) as Snout, Keith David (Hot Feet, Seven Guitars) as Oberon, Mireille Enos (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Absurd Person Singular) as Hermia, John Michael Hill as Puck, Austin Lysy (The Water's Edge, Macbeth) as Lysander, Tim Blake Nelson (The Grey Zone; film: O Brother Where Art Thou) as Quince, Daniel Oreskes (Aida, Electra) as Theseus, Missi Pyle (900 Oneonta) as Helena, Laila Robins (Heartbreak House, Frozen) as Titania, Jay O. Sanders (Saint Joan, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial) as Bottom, and Elliot Villar as Demetrius.  The complete cast will be announced at a later date.

Sullivan most recently directed the award-winning Stuff Happens by David Hare at The Public Theater. His last directorial effort for Shakespeare in the Park was Merry Wives of Windsor in 1994.  His Broadway credits include After the Night and the Music; Julius Caesar; Brooklyn Boy; Sight Unseen; The Retreat From Moscow; Morning's at Seven; Proof; Major Barbara; A Moon for the Misbegotten; Ah, Wilderness!; An American Daughter; The Sisters Rosensweig; Conversations With My Father; The Heidi Chronicles; and I'm Not Rappaport. Off-Broadway credits include Intimate Apparel, In Real Life, Dinner With Friends, and more. From 1981 to 1997, Mr. Sullivan served as artistic director of Seattle Repertory Theatre, where he directed more than 60 productions. He established Seattle Rep's New Play Program, developing new works by many acclaimed playwrights. Sullivan's film and television credits include The Substance of Fire and "Far East."

Performances of Shakespeare in the Park will be Tuesday Through Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are free and will be available on the day of the performance (two per person) at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park beginning at 1:00 p.m. and at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette Street (near Astor Place), from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The closest entrances to the Delacorte are at 81st Street and Central Park West or 70th Street and Fifth Avenue.
