The world premiere of I AM ANNE HUTCHINSON / I AM HARVEY MILK came to the Strathmore featuring Kristin Chenoweth and Andrew Lippa.

Let's see what the critics had to say:

Jennifer Perry, BroadwayWorld.com: The narrative was clear, the lyrics told the story, and the music was varied and sonically interesting. The small but mighty Chenoweth proved once again that she's an acting and singing force to be reckoned with, and with every ounce of her body, convincingly played the wronged, but stalwart woman. The songs showcased her technically perfect voice, flawless diction, enviable vocal range, as well as her ability to interpret a song.

Nelson Pressley, Washington Post: At all times Chenoweth is commanding: she warmly, gloriously captures Hutchinson's open spirit and questing mind. The dramatic exit fashioned by stage director Noah Himmelstein appropriately galvanized the crowd behind the noble character, and behind Chenoweth's accomplished performance.

Paul M. Bessel And Barbara Braswell, DC Metro Theater Arts: Lippa not only provides the words and music, but also performs on stage where he is joined by the incomparable singer and actor Kristin Chenoweth. They, along with Stage Director Noah Himmelstein, Music Director and Conductor Joel Fram, and Choreographer Larry Keigwin combine their impressive creative talents to produce a glorious and stunning musical experience.
