Megan Reinking (HAIR, LESTAT), AJ Shively (LA CAGE AUX FOLLES), Nick Spangler (THE FANTASTICKS, SAVED) and more are set for the reading of LES ENFANTS DE PARIS. The event will be held on January 10, 6PM at Urban Stages.

Loosely based on Victor Hugo's Notre Dame De Paris (more commonly known as The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Les Enfants De Paris is set in 1950s Paris and features music inspired by the era. The story revolves around Pierre Frollo (Shively), a young man whose love for an Algerian refugee sparks a series of cataclysmic events. Islamophobia and disenfranchisement of youth is explored through the guise of France during the Algerian War for Independence.

Les Enfants De Paris features music and lyrics by David Levinson (Bathory) and a book by Stacey Weingarten (John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean).  The reading will be directed by Donna Drake (A Chorus Line Original Company, John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean), with music direction by Mark Hartman (Avenue Q, Sondheim on Sondheim).  The reading was cast by Michael Cassara CSA.

"LES ENFANTS DE PARIS" features Michael Armstrong Barr, Sean Bell, Sevan Greene (Betrayed, Aftermath), Nadine Malouf, Megan Reinking (Boardwalk Empire, Hair, Lestat), A.J. Shively (La Cage Aux Folles), and Nick Spangler (The Fantasticks, The Amazing Race, Saved).
