In a rare one-night-only performance, internationally acclaimed tenor Plácido Domingo, General Director of Washington National Opera, will perform a concert featuring his favorite Spanish-language music, May 1, 2009 in Washington, D.C. Entitled Plácido Domingo Sings: From My Latin Soul, the concert will feature the 12-time Grammy Award winner singing well known music from the tango, ranchera (mariachi) and zarzuela traditions, including "La maravilla," "No puede ser" and the iconic anthem "Granada." Special guest Lucero- the award-winning Mexican singer and actress-will join Mr. Domingo for this Latin-themed event.

Following the concert, Washington elite and Domingo fans from around the globe are expected at an exclusive Gala, which will include dinner, entertainment and dancing at the Organization of American States.

CONCERT: Friday, May 1, 2009 at 8:00 p.m.
DAR Constitution Hall, 1776 D Street, Washington, D.C.

POST-EVENT GALA: Friday, May 1, 2009, following concert (approximately 9:30 p.m.)
