Melanie Jame Wolf/Savage Amusement will present the Australian premiere of Mira Fuchs 2 - 12 June 2016.

Described as moving, seductive and transgressive, Mira Fuchs is an intimate work presented in the round which will see the extraordinary performer and live artist Melanie Jame Wolf speak, prance and twist her way through an abstracted memoir that trips between lap-dance and body politics.

Both entertaining and unflinchingly personal, Mira Fuchs reflects on some of the real experiences of Wolf's eight-year private life as a stripper in a gentleman's club.

Exploring sexuality, gender, performance, intimacy, dance-as-labour, voyeurism and pleasure in a world where money is time and timing is everything, Mira Fuchs is the first exploration in a trilogy that focuses on the economies of affect and ways of being a woman.

An Australian-born artist living and working between Melbourne and Berlin, Wolf makes work under the name Savage Amusement about love, economies and ghosts of many forms.

Wolf has also created work with Triage Live Art Collective, a company that creates complex intimate and audience interactive performances, including: Hotel Obsecura (Festival of Live Art at Arts House, 2016), An Appointment with J Dark (Arts House, 2012 and Green Room nomination), Strange Passions and It's All About You.
